3wbr / new erection / singapore / completed 2013

this bungalow house was designed as a series of arranged volumes, materials and opacities on a long linear site. to reduce the scale of a three storey house, the volumes were adjusted to vary in depths and heights. various timber sun shading screens were also employed on the exterior: each screen is designed differently with alternating sizes for its purpose, each defining a space or element of the house. lush landscaping on the outside softens the harshness of the built forms and can be enjoyed from every space inside the house.
